Frequently Asked Questions

Can I host a private Christmas party at Knepp?

Yes. Knepp hosts private Christmas parties at the Wilding Kitchen with three options: the Private Dining Room (up to 18 guests), The Gathering (up to 20 guests), or exclusive hire of the whole award-winning barn restaurant for larger celebrations. The restaurant will offer a choice of three festive menus throughout December, depending on the group size.

How do I book a Christmas party at Knepp?

Book online via our reservation system, call 01403 470690, or email wildingkitchen@knepp.co.uk. Groups of more than eight should contact the restaurant directly. Saturday evening festive dinners run until 19 December and tables book up quickly.

When is the Wilding Kitchen open over Christmas?

The restaurant is open 9am–4pm daily through the festive season, with Saturday evening service until 19 December. It is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and normal opening resumes from 27 December. The Airstream Cafe serves breakfast on Boxing Day, weather permitting.

Are we open in the evenings?

Yes. Through the summer we host a ticketed BBQ event and through winter we host a Fireside Friday ticketed event. On Saturdays, we are open for our usual al a carte dinner service. All of which start at 6pm.

What's the maximum size group I can bring?

Our private dining room seats 18 guests, 20 at a squeeze. Our restaurant can hold up to 100 guests for private events.

What menu choices are there?

We have a £35pp Party menu and £75 Wilding Feast menu for large groups, as well as our usual al a carte menu which is priced per dish.

Do we cater for dietaries?

Yes, we do cater for all dietaries. If you or your guests have any dietaries, we would love to know as far in advance as possible from the time you book.

Do I have to pay a deposit to secure a booking?

Yes. There is a 10% deposit payable to secure a date for private hires and our private dining room has a £150 deposit.

What is the procedure for parking?

Between 7am – 5pm, parking is payable after 20 minutes. If you spend over £20 in the shop, coffee trailer or restaurant collectively, we will give you a code to discount your parking. From 5pm onwards, parking is free.

Is there disabled access?

Yes our whole site is accessible, but please note our walking routes are not suitable for wheelchair users.

What is the cancellation policy?

There is a 7 day cancellation policy for our private dining room, events and private hires. For standard bookings, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Do we have to pre-book?

As we are situated on a walking route, we do get very busy at lunch time therefore we always recommend booking However we do always have space available for walk ins. Please note these spaces do go quickly so we cannot always guarantee a table without booking.

Will there be decorations or crackers?

We have beautiful fairy lights trailed through birch trees all throughout our venue, as well as our usual table layout and dried flowers.

Can I book a DJ?

You can! We do also have a great list of live music bands that we would recommend.

Will Knepp be open for New Year's Eve?

Yes, the Wilding Kitchen will be serving a supper menu for New Year’s Eve. Details will be announced shortly, but please note we will not be extending the service for midnight celebrations.
